Hello college bound families!! We are mid way through September and now is the time to make sure you are prepared and organized. I am going to give you 4 quick tips to help you with your preparation and organization when it comes to receiving financial aid. If this is your 1st time completing the financial aid forms please watch the video.
1. Get your FSA ID @ Fsaid.ed.gov. Write your USERNAME AND PASSWORD down and keep it handy for reference
2. Schedule a time to complete the forms with your student.
3. Make sure you are prepared to complete the forms with proper documentation and asset values.
4. Have all your questions answered.
It’s that simple. Sometimes the easiest things to do are the easiest things not to do. If you want to maximize your students financial aid potential you need to be prepared, organized, and most importantly just do it.

Thank you so much for the helpful information. My son and I filled out the information for the FAFSA at the beginning of September. Now what do we do? Is there something else that has to be submitted on October 1st?
Hello Kelly.
Sorry for my late reply. The official FAFSA opening for Fall of 2021 will be October 1, 2020. I am not sure what the intention was behind your application but you may need to complete the forms again for Fall 2021. Is you student applying Early Decision? If you’d like to explain more or speak with us for more clarification I can arrange that.
Hi Josh. Thank you for this info. I have a question about student and parent savings / checking account. Does FAFSA ask for the bank account info to double check the amounts reported? Thank you.
They do not ask on the application, however it could be requested for verification. If so you will have to provide documentation supporting your input. If you’d like to speak more for suggestions we are available.
